Project aiming to produce a sustainable approach to making
searching, finding, browsing, accessing and retrieving multimedia
resources as easy as possible, tools for the maintenance and security of
information resources and mechanisms for monitoring the quality of
information.
025.0 ELIB: Electronic
Libraries Programme
Major research programme, 1998 to 2001, which emerged from the
Follett Report. The programme has resulted in around 60 projects in a
number of areas: Access to Network Resources, Digitisation, Electronic
Document Delivery, Electronic Journals, Electronic Short Loan, Images,
On Demand Publishing, Preprints, Quality Assurance, Supporting Studies,
Training and Awareness.

European Commission initiative to support, promote and orient
private and public action in the field of the information society.
Facilitates contacts between potential partners, raises awareness and
provides a forum for pooling solutions.
