Results of a survey into cataloguing methods in special libraries.
Concludes that the cataloguing needs of the special libraries surveyed
in this study are characterised by their diversity as shown by the
predominant use of locally developed codes and the perceived lack of
utility of cooperative schemes. The majority of librarians create quite
brief records, in most cases shorter than the simplest level of
description in AACR2.

An interdisciplinary society which aims to promote the scientific
study of classification and clustering, including systematic methods of
creating classifications from data.
025.3 Classification System for Libraries of Judaica
Information, tables of contents, and comments on work based upon,
and arranged according to, Jewish thought, history, and religion, and
used in libraries of all kinds, synagogues, community centres, Hebrew
schools, college campuses, and research institutions.
025.3 CONSER Cooperative Online Serials
An international cooperative serials cataloguing program established
in the 1970s as a project to convert manual serial cataloguing into
machine-readable records. Now a project maintaining quality
bibliographic records for serials, CONSER has related publications, the
CONSER Editing Guide and the CONSER Cataloging Manual.
020 CONSER Line
CONSERline is published at least semiannually by the Library of
Congress, Serial Record Division, and is a continuation of CONSER, a
newsletter issued only in paper format. A cooperative effort, with
contributions from program members consisting of news of the CONSER
Program and information of interest to the serials cataloguing
community.
025.3 Full Disclosure
British Library led initiative aiming to improve accessibility to
material held within museums, libraries, and archives. As such, Full
Disclosure supports and encourages the conversion of information
currently on index cards to online databases. It also supports the
retrospective cataloguing of all uncatalogued collections so that their
value can be realised.

Glossary of numbers and words commonly used on title pages, book
adverts, invoices, and acquisitions related correspondence in a range of

Symbols
This technical report provides rules for the alphabetical
arrangement of headings in lists of all kinds, such as bibliographies,
indexes, dictionaries, directories, and inventories. It also covers the
sorting of Arabic or Roman numbers, and other symbols. Seven rules are
given to cover problems which may arise in alphanumeric arrangements of
headings, but the report does not address issues concerning the meaning

consisting of the identification and registration of serials, is
coordinated by the ISSN International Centre situated in Paris. Lists
contact details for all national centres and provides news, a
‘genealogical tree’ of ISSN records, products, including the ISSN
