supplied bibliographic database services for UK higher education and
research. Many services require registration.
025.0 CDLR: Centre for Digital
Library Research
Based at Strathclyde University, the CDLR conducts research on
digital library issues ranging from information policy and information
retrieval to document storage technologies and standards. Includes
material on individual projects with links to their specific Web
resources, along with details of presentations and reports delivered
since the Centre’s creation in 1999.

025.04 EDINA: Edinburgh Data
and Information Access
EDINA provides the UK Higher Education and research community with
access to a library of data, information and research resources
(requires registration).
025.04 MIMAS: Manchester Information
and Associated Services (formerly MIDAS)
MIMAS provides a range of national dataset services to the UK
academic community. These include online access to strategic research
and teaching datasets, specialist support (e.g. training courses and
documentation), access to software packages and computing resources
required for data storage.
025.04 NISS: National Information
Services and Systems
NISS provides the UK education and research community with access to
a wide range of information about education, as well as access to
networked information resources. There are five main information
categories: Education (HE, FE, schools, funding bodies, UK Government),
Reference (OPACs, bookshops, museums, ATHENS subscription services,
external data services), News (newspapers, current affairs, business
sources), Studentzone (information of interest to HE students both on
and off campus) and Noticeboard (jobs, research posts, conferences).
025.0 TASI: Technical Advisory Service
for Images
A national service set up to advise and support the academic
community on the digital creation, storage, and delivery of image
related information. Its objectives are to share and promote technical
expertise and standards within the academic and public sectors, and
enable the academic community to develop digital archives of good
quality image related materials to support effective teaching and
research by providing comprehensive information and advice. Includes
information on copyright issues for groups wishing to create a digital
image archive.
025.0 UKOP Online: United Kingdom
Official Publications
Complete catalogue of British Official Publications from 1980 to the
present, including Stationery Office, departmental and agency
publications. Subscription required.
